Manomet

Katie Keyes: Owner/ Director

"Miss Katie" is the owner and director of the Manomet School of Dance,which has been under her administration for the past 20 years. Dancing since a child both in recreational and competitive classes has given her a true love for the art. She is a graduate of Dean College where she studied dance and was active in all of their dance programs, and furthering her education in Tap, Ballet, Jazz, Modern and Creative Movement for Children. Her hard work resulted in her graduating with honors with an Associates Degree in the Arts. Miss Katie is also a graduate of the Rosemary Delutis-Boyden Workshop of Dance Education for Children and a proud member of the Greater

Brockton Dance Teachers Association. Among her accomplishments she’s choreographed countless award winning competition routines at the local, state and national level. Her students participate in numerous classes; traveling to dance conventions to further their education including to New York to attend master classes, and they have been privileged enough to perform aboard the Cruise ships “Norwegian Majesty” and "Norwegian Spirit." She’s thankful for all the support she has received throughout the years from MSOD parents and students who have made her dreams become a reality. She’s honored to be providing your families with her reputable dance education and warm heartfelt teaching techniques.

Jodi LaFountain

Jodi was born and raised in The Manomet Family and began her dance training at the Manomet School of Dance at the age of 3. Taught by former owner “Miss Gail” and current owner “Miss Katie” She Is A True Farm Bread Dancer Who’s Heart and Soul Belongs To This Studio. A proud member of the Greater Brockton Dance Teachers’ Association. Miss Jodi has taken numerous dance classes outside of MSOD to further her dance education throughout Massachusetts and New York City. Miss Jodi attended Bridgewater State College and now holds two degrees in Psychology which she uses everyday to her benefit while working with growing children and understanding the importance of building positive self-esteem for her students for years to come. She has 

performed on the "Norwegian Majesty" and was one of MSOD’s first competitors, Miss Jodi acquired many special awards and recognitions throughout her competitive career. Being a true competitor she certainly understands the importance of constructive criticism and discipline and uses her past experiences in the competitive world in her teaching techniques in her dance classes. As a whole hearted Manomet Girl she strives to provide the highest dance education possible to her students. Hoping to instill the fundamentals of loving and living dance that MSOD had impacted on her life in to the new generation of MSOD dancers’.

Lynne Rogan

Lynne Rogan began her dancing career at Manomet School of Dance at the age of eight. She was on the 1st MSOD competition team and competed for many years thereafter. Lynne brought home numerous awards, trophies and a new found love for competing and performing. She became an assistant teacher while still in high school and upon graduation became a Lead Teacher. Lynne attended Bridgewater State College where she acquired a double major in Early Education and Dance. She was an active member of the Bridgewater Dance Team; helping them to form the 1st competition group to compete for BSC. While at BSC, Lynne traveled home two nights a week and on Saturdays to teach at MSOD. She has always had a love for dance and children which certainly shows while 

teaching her classes. Lynne has taken numerous master classes throughout her career in Massachusetts and in New York , and has also performed on a Norwegian Majesty Cruise Ship. She is also a member of the Greater Brockton Dance Teachers Association. Lynne teaches children from 4 years old up to high school and competition classes. When she is not teaching dance, Lynne owns and operates Miss Lynne’s Family Childcare serving infants, toddlers and school aged children in Manomet. She truly enjoys teaching and feels blessed to do what she loves each and every day.

Sharon Terman

Sharon has been dancing for more than 30 years and teaching/choreographing since the age of 14. She graduated from Dean Jr College were she earned a degree in dance. While studying all forms of dance including ballet, tap, jazz and modern. Sharon also studied the theater arts at Dean. Dance majors, Friends and Roommates in College with “Miss Katie” she always new that there paths would cross again. Sharon furthered her dance career by taking dance classes in Braintree, Boston and New York City. Sharon started teaching at MSOD 11 years ago. She teaches dance to all ages and also teaches at other dance studios on the south shore. Sharon is also a member of the Greater Brockton Dance Teachers Association. In addition to her dance background she also 

performs and choreographs with many local theater groups in musicals, plays and variety shows. Oklahoma, South Pacific, The Music Man, Guys and Dolls and a Chorus Line are just some of her favorites that she has performed. Sharon’s biggest accomplishment is directing and choreographing “Cabaret” in Hingham. Sharon has performed for “Cabaret” for 19 years, choreographed for 10 years and directed the show for the past 8 years. Sharon is a proud teacher of MSOD and also proud to be a part of an amazing team of teachers.
