This class introduces children to ballet and tap.

Children will enjoy learning age appropriate songs

and dances while incorporating basic elements of

pre-ballet and tap. Coordination, rhythm, teamwork and following directions, are the stress points of this  fun-filled program. Pre-School students will perform one song/dance with their class, and one song/dance with all pre school classes in our annual June recital.             Jazz Classes

From beginner to advanced; each jazz class consists of stretching, across the floor progressions, center floor work, and complete jazz routine performed in our annual recital. Jazz classes are taught according to the students’ ability and level. Beginners start by learning   basic steps in repetition and combination form, simple line changing formations and proper technique and vocabulary. As students’ progress, basic skills, technique and vocabulary are expanded.

 

 

 

Tap classes consist of warm-up exercises, center floor work, and complete tap routine performed in our annual recital. Tap classes are taught according to the students’ ability and level. From beginner to advanced; basic tap steps and combinations are taught stressing proper technique and vocabulary.

As students’ progress, skills, technique and vocabulary are expanded and

students are introduced to more complex step combinations, time-steps,

moving steps, patterns and formations.

 

 

All general dance classes are one-hour combination classes consisting of jazz and tap. Each general dance class performs two numbers in the annual recital; one jazz routine and one tap routine.

 

 

All Intermediate dance classes are one-hour and fifteen minutes long with a combination  of dances consisting of ballet, jazz and tap. Intermediate dance class perform three numbers in the annual recital; one ballet routine, one jazz routine and one tap routine.

 

All Advanced Intermediate dance classes are one-hour and thirty minutes long with a combination of dances consisting of ballet, jazz and tap. Intermediate dance class perform three numbers in the annual recital; one ballet routine, one jazz routine

and one tap routine.

 

 

Hip hop classes consist of warm-up exercises and stretching, center, across the floor progressions, and a hip-hop routine performed in our annual recital. Students’ will learn the latest styles and moves to age appropriate music.

In ballet class the students will learn the correct discipline of ballet. Barre work, ballet positions, proper body alignment and technique are the stress points of this class. As students’ progress they will be introduced to ballet steps and combinations, correct body placement and expanded vocabulary. Students will learn a complete ballet routine performed in our annual recital.

 

Adult only combination jazz and tap class. Half hour of each subject, this class sets its own pace and is an enjoyable way to burn calories and have some fun.

Because everyone deserves to express the art of dance. This specially designed jazz class is perfect for our special needs dancers. Each student has one-on-one interaction and assistance from an assigned student helper. The teachers and student helpers work with their assigned dancer throughout the year. Inclusive students learn an entire jazz routine and perform with the student helpers in our annual recital. MSOD was one of the 1st studios to provide such a class and is so proud of all the students that partake in it!

These teams are formed through an audition process. Our competitive dancers,

are not only skillful but carry a drive and love for performing. They are courageous, hardworking, and creative! These teams require 110% of dedication and provide

our students with the honor and pride that goes along with being part of a

prestigious team. We train hard all year for Regional & Nation competitions

and love hometown supporters! Join us for any events throughout the year!

We encourage students thinking about auditioning to attend competitions

 to see the commitment and energy that is required first hand.
